Craig's Motorcycles Ltd respects your privacy and we value your trust in us. We developed this Privacy Policy to offer transparency on what we do with the information we hold. We take the security of your data seriously and strictly adhere to the United Kingdom Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time but the most recent version is reflected by the date located at the bottom of the Policy. We have tried our best to keep it as simple yet as informative as possible but if you do have any questions relating to this notice or you want to update, delete or change any personal information we hold please do not hesitate to contact us. At the bottom of every general marketing email you will find an unsubscribe link.
Our Privacy Policy applies whether you visit our dealership or our website and aims to provide you with information about:

  • What information we collect and the reasons for it being collected
  • How we use the information we collect from you
  • Your legal rights relating to your personal data

Collection Personal information

We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal information:
Online Enquiry: If you use one of the contact forms on our website, such as our value my part exchange form, book a test ride form, finance enquiry form or general contact form then we will take your details in order to respond to your enquiry. If you give us permission we will use these details to contact you about future events, offers and promotions including new and used bike offers.

Demo Ride / Courtesy Bike: If you book a test ride or take a courtesy bike from our service department we require a copy of your driving licence, we will store a copy of this in case of any speeding, parking or other motoring offence that may occur.

Finance: If you require finance for your vehicle purchase, we will require additional information including marital and housing status, number of dependents, previous address, occupation, employer, business address and bank details, in addition we will also require proof of address (i.e. utility bill) and any other relevant information. With your permission this information will be passed to our selected finance partners.

Service: If your bike has visited our workshop then we will take details of yourself and your bike. We may contact you about potential future work, or send you information via phone, email, post or text regarding promotions, offers and events including new or used bike offers.

Parts: If you have bought parts/clothing from ourselves online or in store you name and address will be required in case we need to contact yourself about your order. We may from time to time send you offers about new clothing and parts or offers and promotions you can unsubscribe any time at the bottom of the email.

Motorcycle Purchase: If you purchase a bike from ourselves, at the point of sale under a Contractual Obligation we will collect your full name, address, and contact number, date of birth, driving licence details, payment details, and details of the vehicle you are buying and, if applicable, details of the vehicle you will be using as a part exchange. Your details may be used for marketing purposes however you can unsubscribe at any time by contacting dataprotection@craigsmotorcycles.com. If you purchase a new vehicle we will be contractually obliged to send your details to the manufacturer for warranty, registration and recall purposes.

Over the phone: Should you call us or should we contact you in response to an enquiry, your phone call may be recorded and will be retained for a maximum of 3 months. The recording will be used for quality and training purposes only.
In Store: We operate CCTV in store to monitor our premises, therefore your image and vehicle registration may be captured and stored for up to 30 days.

Using Personal information

Personal data we receive will be used for the purposes it was provided, including:

  • meeting the terms of your order
  • to undertake credit checks for finance
  • to correspond and communicate with you
  • to send reminders to you regarding your vehicle
  • sending goods purchased through our dealerships or via our website
  • keeping our data up to date and accurate
  • for the prevention of fraud and other criminal activities  
  • quoting for and supplying services which may be offered through our website or in store
  • sending our email newsletter, if you have requested it (you can inform us at any time if you no longer require the newsletter)
  • to comply with a request from you in connection with the exercise of your rights

Disclosing Personal Information

We may disclose your personal information to any of our staff, agents or suppliers where it would be reasonable to do so. We may be legally obliged to disclose your personal information:

  • to the extent that we are required to do so by law
  • in connection with any ongoing or prospective legal proceedings
  • in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk)
  • to any person who we reasonably believe may apply to a court or other competent authority for disclosure of that personal information where, in our reasonable opinion, such court or authority would be reasonably likely to order disclosure of that personal information

Cookies

When someone visits our website, Google Analytics will collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. This is used to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

You're Rights

  • You may instruct us to provide you with any personal information we hold about you, via a Subject Access Request
  • Upon receipt of such a request we will, after confirming identity, provide all relevant data we may hold to you in the most practical format unless otherwise stipulated and reasonably possible.
  • We may withhold personal information that you request to the extent permitted by law.
  • If you instruct us to no longer process your personal data we will do so as quickly as possible.
  • If you instruct us to cease all processing for marketing purposes we will do so as quickly as possible.
